[Updated] ‘Catching Fire’ actress Marian Green launches Indiegogo campaign for short film

Marian Green Catching Fire

Marian Green, who played District 9 Tribute in Catching Fire, is producing a short film titled Refuge.

An Indiegogo contribution page is now live where you can back the project.

For contributors, the producers will be offering secret perks in the future specifically for Hunger Games fans, including a copy of the Catching Fire book signed by the cast as well as the official cast and crew hat. Fans can already purchase perks that include a screening with Green or a one hour Skype session.

Major perks also include being an associate/co-producer on the project. For aspiring filmmakers, this is a good opportunity.

Refuge tells the story of Rachel, a young Jewish-American woman who moves to Vienna, Austria to work for the IAEA. She befriends Yitzhak, an Ethiopian Jew and former refugee, who lives in her apartment complex. When confronted with their shared cultural history, Rachel must reconcile her past with Austria’s Holocaust history and the current refugee crisis gripping Europe.

At its heart, the film is about how the current climate in Europe during the refugee crisis reflects the time leading up to the Holocaust, and acts as a warning to not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Cast includes Charlie Gillette as Rachel and David Wurawa as Yitzhak.
