Jennifer Lawrence attended CinemaCon 2016 An Evening with Sony Pictures Entertainment: Celebrating the Summer of 2016 and Beyond at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on April 12.
The actress introduced her upcoming sci-fi thriller, Passengers, along with co-star Chris Pratt.
Passengers is about a future where people can take 120-year-journeys in suspended animation across the stars. Jennifer plays a “writer in New York” named Aurora who wants to be the first to take this trip so she can write about it.
From Entertainment Weekly:
In the teaser screened, Pratt wakes up 30 years into the journey, all alone in a ship that vaguely suggests both 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shining. (Michael Sheen plays an android bartender, possibly but probably not an homage to TRON: Legacy.) Lawrence wakes up awhile after him, and they’re left alone in an empty ship. The footage looked impressive, even if many of the special effects were temporary.
Passengers hits theaters December 21.
