Lionsgate is scaling back on the Mockingjay: Part 2 premiere in Los Angeles, the final stop in the Global Tour (although Lionsgate is also holding a screening in NYC on November 18), due to the recent international happenings, particularly the attacks in Paris.
The attending cast and crew is expected to pose for photos, and greet the fans but there will be no more press interviews or livestream from the LA premiere.
“Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday’s Mockingjay 2 premiere,” a representative from Lionsgate said in a statement to EW and PEOPLE. “We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion.”
Paris was an important filming location for the movies earlier, and the cast attended the French premiere in the capital just days before. The decision to cancel press time is understandable.
