The TCL Chinese Theater, famous for its prestigious handprints and footprints ceremony, will be hosting the leading trio of The Hunger Games next.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth will participate in the ceremony on Saturday, October 31, and leave their hand prints and foot prints on cement.
The TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX handprints-footprints ceremony is rich in tradition and provides its four million-plus annual visitors an opportunity to experience the lore of Hollywood up close.
Movie exhibitor Sid Grauman, who was one of Hollywood’s best known and most creative showmen, opened The Chinese in 1927 and launched the handprint-footprint ceremony a year later, as a promotion to advertise his many premieres and first run films. Recent celebrants have included Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Johnny Depp and Jennifer Aniston. In any given year, The TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX hosts over 40 red carpet film premieres and since it opened, it has hosted three Academy Award® ceremonies and numerous world premieres.
In YA franchises, both Harry Potter and Twilight stars have been accorded this honor. It’s great to see The Hunger Games follow suit. If you’re around Los Angeles on Halloween, don’t miss this wonderful opportunity!
