Forbes has released its annual World’s Top-Earning Authors list for 2015. The 16 authors include James Patterson, John Green, Veronica Roth, JK Rowling, George RR Martin and more.
The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins returned on the list at #11 with $13 million.
Though the Hunger Games trilogy no longer records the riotous sales it once did — 27.7 million copies in 2012 alone — Collins’ earnings are bolstered by the movie versions of the Young Adult novels. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, grossed $752 million worldwide, helping its star, Jennifer Lawrence, become the world’s highest-earning actress. A former television writer, Collins is also the author of the five-book series “The Underland Chronicles.”
The count of YA authors has certainly increased this time. Our hearty congratulations to Suzanne!
