'Mockingjay: Part 1' scores biggest domestic opening weekend in 2014

Jennifer Lawrence invites you to Mockingjay premiere

Mockingjay: Part 1 has debuted with a gross total of $123 million on the North American box-office, making it the year’s biggest opening weekend, easily beating Transformers: Age of Extinction‘s $100 million mark.

Even though the collection is a series low in North America (Catching Fire debuted with $158.1 million and The Hunger Games with $152.1 million), the reverse is true for the overseas markets where the movie has collected $275 million on its opening weekend, outperforming both its predecessors.

Congratulations to the entire team!
