Jennifer Lawrence, Suzanne Collins & Nina Jacobson make Women in Entertainment Power 100 List

The Hollywood Reporter’s 2013 Women in Entertainment Power 100 list was released on December 12. While Anne Sweeney, President of Disney/ABC Television Group leads the list, The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins, producer Nina Jacobson and leading actress Jennifer Lawrence make the list too.

11/100 The Box-Office Queens

Jennifer Lawrence, 23
Sandra Bullock, 49
Melissa McCarthy, 43

Only three actresses starred in two home runs in 2013: Bullock pulled off a top-grossing comedy in The Heat ($230 million worldwide) and has steered Gravity to $616 million (and counting) and likely Oscar noms. Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire took in more than $580 million in its first 12 days, and she’s emerging as a frontrunner to win another Oscar for American Hustle. And McCarthy’s comic appeal drove Identity Thief to $174 million worldwide and she played perfectly off Bullock inThe Heat.

37/100 Nina Jacobson

Jacobson can boast only one film in 2013, Catching Fire, but it’s a monster that earned $573 million in its first 11 days and is on its way to eclipsing the first film’s $691 million haul.

95/100 The Power Authors

EL James, 50
Suzanne Collins, 51
J.K. Rowling, 48

These writers provide the intellectual property for the most anticipated and currently popular franchises. James is moving her hit series Fifty Shades of Grey (70 million-plus copies sold) to the big screen via Universal. Rowling signed a mega-deal for a new Potterverse film franchise based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Collins’ The Hunger GamesCatching Fire scored November’s biggest opening weekend ever with $110.2 million.
