Rumor Alert: Mockingjay: Part 1 might film in England

We usually keep away from rumors, but this one is rather interesting to ignore. The Sun UK is reporting that scenes for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 might film in Bristol, England.

Producers of The Hunger Games films have been looking at Del Boy and Rodney’s old gaff as a location for the next movie in the series. Among the locations they’ve scouted is Bristol’s Ashton Gate estate – famous as Nelson Mandela House in Only Fools And Horses. They want to recreate the look of an East European city with high-rise blocks for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

Their source has added that “Hunger Games producers have earmarked the same estate as a possible location for the main battle scene, as well as a tower block area in south London.”

If we go by the “East European city” detail, that is a little confusing. Those cities are architecturally breathtaking and full of bridges, cathedrals and inland water bodies with close-set buildings.

Could it be District 8’s battle scene, somehow?
