As we know, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be re-shooting, specifically in March. NorthJersey.com is now reporting that the sequel will be filmed at the Ringwood State Park in Passaic County, New Jersey this week.

Larry Ragonese, a spokesman for the state Department of Environmental Protection, said on Thursday that the state film commission gave approval for GSX Productions to film in the park for two days this week.

A source with knowledge of the production confirmed that crews were filming scenes for the highly anticipated sequel, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” It’s not known whether the star of the series Jennifer Lawrence was in Oakland for the scenes.

About a half dozen semi trailers unloading tripods and other equipment have been seen near the entrances to Ringwood State Park. The vehicles have occasionally caused a backup of traffic on Skyline Drive.

Park security would not allow a Record photographer to get close to the set.

Ringwood State Park is a huge park spread over an area of 5000 acre and is a heavy forested region. The park is maintained by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry.
